On August 25, 2009 the GT SHPE membership drive was held at the Student Success Center in which all students were registered on the society and given a t-shirt after paying the fee. Food from St. Charles Deli and refreshments were served in the reception. Afterward, on the meeting, the new EBoard was introduced and a quick overview was given so the new members could understand what type of society they were getting into.
