The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc., (SHPE) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the participation of Hispanic professionals and college students in the fields of engineering, science, and other technical and non-technical professions. SHPE is dedicated, at the national level, to the promotion of Hispanics to achieve educational excellence, economic opportunity and social equity. GT-SHPE is dedicated, at the local level, to the same goals.

GT-SHPE provides active academic support to its members, offers professional, career, and technical development opportunities, is involved with the Hispanic community in the Atlanta area, and supports recruitment of top-tier Hispanic students. The chapter also provides leadership and networking opportunities to its members, and engages in outreach programs to increase interest and participation of Hispanics in the engineering and scientific fields. As a result, GT-SHPE members are well-rounded individuals, who learn to balance academia and extra curricular activities, while continuously striving for excellence. Upon graduation, GT-SHPE members have joined the ranks of many of the leading corporations in the U.S., and have also continued to find time to be involved with their community.

GT-SHPE has recognized that, in order to achieve its goals and better serve our ever changing industry, it needs to engage organizations that have a recognized commitment to diversity, such as yours, in its initiatives, programs, events, and activities. To achieve this, our chapter has restructured its corporate sponsorship program in a way that it offers your organization an opportunity to make an investment in GT-SHPE; and consequently, in Georgia Tech, which year after year is the only technological university consistently ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s listing of America’s top ten public universities. In addition, Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering is consistently ranked in the Nation’s top five public universities.

An investment in GT-SHPE will help us develop mechanisms through which our members can learn more about industry, and specifics about your organization, and at the same time grow on both personal and professional levels. This investment is by no means only financial. In fact, GTSHPE finds a company’s time commitment and in-kind sponsorship essential and sometimes more beneficial for both our organization as well as your company. This investment will ensure that, when an organization comes to recruit Hispanic Engineers at Georgia Tech, it finds in our chapter the best candidates for the positions it seeks to fill: a diverse group of highly motivated students who posses a variety of talents and display high levels of academic achievement. Furthermore, corporate sponsors have priority access to all the initiatives, programs, events, and activities our chapter sponsors, thus increasing their exposure and visibility within the Hispanic community at Georgia Tech.

GT-SHPE is committed to helping our members become the leaders of the future. On the link above you will find additional details on how your support can help us achieve this vision.
